Model SSM-21P Now Compliant With PSPC, NACE SP0508-2010, ISO 8502-9 Equivalent.

The Model SSM-21P Surface Salinity Meter recently completed third party testing and certification. Independent testing laboratory, Sumitomo Measuring Industries Environmental Co. Ltd. performed extensive testing of the Model SSM-21P. As a result of successful completion of testing, the Model SSM-21P has now gained certification proving that its measurement is equivalent to ISO 8502-9 (the Bresle Method) in accordance with NACE SP0508-2010.

The Model SSM-21P provides an improved method for checking surface salinity of steel surfaces prior to painting. The use of this instrument will improve the reliability of test results and increase the overall efficiency of the preparation and painting processes.

PSPC is a Performance Standard for Protective Coatings for dedicated seawater ballast tanks on all new ships and double-sided skin spaces of bulk carriers that the IMO (International Maritime Organization) has established.
